The Moldova Project was set up in 2008 with the aim of helping some of the most vulnerable people in Moldova, and became a registered Charitable Trust in 2011. The people we support include the many children living in orphanages, as well as people living in extreme poverty in Moldova's remote villages. We are trying to support these people by providing financial help, such as by arranging sponsors for deprived families and funding projects in the orphanages. We also provide more practical support by arranging for children to go to school and for damaged houses to be repaired.
Although the project is currently operating on a small scale we have very ambitious aims, including the expansion of projects such as family sponsorship, large building projects and improvements in the orphanages. As a result of the generosity of our sponsors and fundraisers we have been able to achieve a lot in a relatively short space of time and are confident that we will continue to do this in the future; we always have ideas for projects that we want to complete.
The pages on the website provide more information about our long and short term aims, our fundraising efforts and more information about each of the families we support. Please contact us with any queries (emma@themoldovaproject.com or lucy@themoldovaproject.com.)
Thank you in advance for your support.
Below is a video put together by our Moldova friend Roma Gatcan. It features some highlights of our ambitious 2012 summer building project, focussing on the experience of the volunteers.
