How it all began
Supporting Europe's most vulnerable families
Our vision
Is for every child in Moldova to have a family, a safe home, an education and the opportunity to be happy.
How can we make this happen?
By supporting Moldova’s most vulnerable families to find long-term solutions to the problems they face so that they can live happier, safer and more independent lives. We work to improve quality of life for families living in extreme poverty and we help them to become self-sufficient and financially secure. We do this by providing training, mentoring, monthly subsistence packages and employment support. We run projects to help improve living conditions for the families we work with and activity projects for children who would otherwise have no respite.
And you can help!
Our work is made possible by the generosity of donors, sponsors and volunteers. Read on to find out more about The Moldova Project and how you can get involved.
How it began
Abandoning your child into an orphanage because you are too poor to support them is a tragedy which no family should ever face. In 2008 sisters Emma and Lucy Watson, together with Victoria Morozov, were so appalled by what they saw happening far too often in Moldova that they decided to do something about it. This is how The Moldova Project was born. In this video Emma tells us more about how the journey began.
